After more than 20 years in the United States, climbing the corporate ladder and chasing what the world told me success should look like, I found myself at a crossroads. My life, though outwardly successful, felt disconnected from something deeper—a longing for freedom, purpose, and authenticity.
In that pivotal moment, I made one of the boldest decisions of my life: I left the security and predictability of corporate life to become an entrepreneur and digital nomad. It was a leap into the unknown, filled with uncertainty and vulnerability, but also the promise of independence, creativity, and impact. I wasn’t just rebuilding a career—I was rebuilding my life from the ground up.
This journey brought me back to Sukhothai, the town of my birth and a place of profound historical and personal significance. Sukhothai, Thailand’s first capital and a UNESCO World Heritage site, translates to “the dawn of happiness.” Returning to this sacred place wasn’t just a physical move; it was a deeply symbolic act. It marked the start of my own dawn of happiness—a journey to reconnect with my roots, heal old wounds, and rediscover the essence of who I truly am.
As I settled into life in Sukhothai, I realized my journey wasn’t just about returning home—it was about rebuilding, both literally and figuratively. My family and I made the decision to tear down my childhood home, not to erase the past but to honor it by creating something new. Brick by brick, we built our dream pool villa, a sanctuary that reflected not only our shared vision but the love and connection that had been reignited. As the villa took shape, so did my life. I was building my dream home, my dream business, and my dream life all at once.
This process wasn’t without challenges. Entrepreneurship and digital nomadism demanded resilience, courage, and the ability to embrace uncertainty. But these same challenges brought unparalleled freedom. I was finally able to align my work with my passions, design my days with intention, and live expansively. I found immense satisfaction in knowing that every aspect of my life was being crafted on my own terms—a life that honored both my past and my vision for the future.
Returning to Thailand also became a journey of healing. The years I had spent disconnected from my roots had left wounds, both in my relationships with my family and within myself. Coming home allowed me to heal the love that had been fractured, not only with my parents but also with the child within me—the one who had once dreamed without limits and saw life as an endless adventure.
